Our Lawyer Letchumanan Participates in the ASEAN Youth Peacebuilders Training Programme 2026 and Wins the Resilient Peacebuilder Award
Mr. Letchumanan Anbalagan, Advocate & Solicitor at Lee Sok Wah & Co., was officially selected to participate in the ASEAN Youth Peacebuilders Training Programme 2026 (AYPP 2026), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 17 to 29 January 2026.
AYPP 2026 is a regional initiative led by the Rotary Club of Ipoh Central, organised with the assistance of various Rotary Clubs in Malaysia and abroad, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Malaysia. The programme brought together 43 youth leaders from 11 ASEAN member countries for 12 days of intensive learning, dialogue, and collaboration, focusing on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, mental health, climate change, and intercultural understanding.
The programme provided valuable opportunities for reflection, discussion, and collaborative learning across diverse cultural and professional perspectives. Engagement with participants from across the ASEAN region strengthened understanding of peacebuilding principles and highlighted the importance of empathy, cooperation, and mutual respect in addressing complex regional and global challenges.
Mr. Letchumanan is sincerely grateful to his fellow participants for their support and votes, which contributed to him receiving the Resilient Peacebuilder Award. This recognition underscores the responsibility to continue contributing meaningfully to peacebuilding efforts. He is also pleased that his team was recognised with the Most Innovative Peacebuilding Idea Award.
The significance of the programme was also acknowledged by the media, with The Sun newspaper, in its 27 January 2026 edition, reporting on the ASEAN Youth Peacebuilders Training Programme 2026 (AYPP 2026) and its regional impact.
Lee Sok Wah & Co. is proud of Mr. Letchumanan for representing Malaysia on the international stage through this regional peacebuilding initiative.
